GENETIC ANGRY - Not Yet 7" now in stock

I just got a few copies of the NEW 7" from GENETIC ANGRY from Truro, Nova Scotia. After many years living on oppositve coasts, the Mumfords have gotten back together to record new material. They made and released it themselves, and I'm very proud to distrubute some copies.
It sounds like a more modern recording or possibly re-mastered version of some long lost 80s American hardcore band. I think the SST and Black Flag influence in particular shines through with all of their material. I still think that their 2008 record on Sewercide is a triumph of eastern Canadian hardcore, and this release is no different. Deeply unpretensious and without ego; hardcore for its own sake, as it should be.
On a more personal note, Genetic Angry formed a friendship with some people from Newfoundland when some people made it off the island to tour. They came and played in St. John's a few times and the shows were formative moments for me. The friendships were formative, too. It was one of the first times I sort of experience the phenomena of scenes connecting. To meet other people close in age to me from another small, remote area of eastern Canada who were passionate about music in an earnest way. I've lived in big cities for a large chunk of my adult life at this point now, but it was important for me to meet other people who I saw some of myself in. There's a sense of pride I have when I show people this band, and I'm excited to share with people new material from them.
